Introductions Please

Intro

Let me begin by introducing ourselves. I'm Rhea and my husband is Dwayne and we have two girls AC and LG. Most think they are twins but they are just very close - 9 1/2 months apart!  I have an obsession with fabrics and decorating and could look at fabric samples for hours. Dwayne is fascinated by reclaimed woods and salvaged items and is also the artist behind our painted furniture. He fits in deep sea fishing when there is time ;)

Over the past couple of weeks we have been humbled by the outpouring of support from our community and friends, old and new.

Ribbon Cutting

Wow - it has been a busy 2 weeks!  We kicked off our Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting with our family, friends and chamber members. A great time was had by all!

Blessed with a great turnout, (giving away a 125 Qt. Yeti didn't hurt, either!) we sold our "Saltaire" Swing within 30 minutes of opening. Since then, we have had many custom orders for our swings, some small in nature others large. Customers really like the idea of having their swing made to their specifications. They are compromised of reclaimed shutters and Antique Cypress, which we mill ourselves.

Back to the Yeti- many guys and gals were anticipating their name being called. But only one could win - Look at their excitement!

Please stay with us as we continue our journey doing what we love. With that being said, I will leave you with this quote ~
"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle."  Steve Jobs

  1. Huge congratulations! Starting a blog is wonderful way to reach out to your target audience. A few things to get started, treat your blog like one more aspect of your business. Post on a regular schedule so others know when to expect updates. Start linking up your projects at as many of the fabulous link parties you can find.

The best thing to do is network. Just like any new business, this takes time. Start visiting other blogs with work you admire and start commenting often. Be sure to put all your blog post updates on your FB page too.

Tons of blog traffic comes from Pinterest. Start a Pinterest board with your work. Keep descriptions to a minimum so they are easy to find by search engines.

Be courteous and respond to comments, BY EMAIL. Many bloggers make a mistake of answering comments in their own blog. Most bloggers find this very rude and impersonal. Also, most people will not receive the reply because they did not sign up for comment updates.

    Good luck!
